The Pervasive Club 18-30 Culture in Lanzarote
For many young adults, the idea of a perfect holiday is letting loose in some of the world’s most popular party destinations. Popular destinations include those countries which border the Mediterranean like Spain and Greece, or islands such as the Balearic island of Ibiza, and Lanzarote in the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa.
One of the most popular amongst these is the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands just off the coast of Africa. This Spanish island appeals to the ‘Club 18-30s’ types, with its average summer temperature of 29C and all the bars, beaches and activities it offers these holiday makers. With so much to enjoy on one island, it’s not surprising that a destination like Lanzarote appeals to this demographic.
There are two main tourist demographics for the island; young families and the already mentioned 18-30s. The island is perhaps better known for its party-appeal, with the pubs, bars and clubs making it ideal for those wishing to go on a drinking holiday. This abundance of drinking and clubbing venues has always appealed to younger adults, which is why many choose Lanzarote for their clubbing holidays.
There are various important party towns on the island, with the most popular ones being Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise. These towns all offer holiday makers plenty of lively bars and clubs to choose from, although for those looking for a more traditional local selection of bars and clubs, then the best place is Arrecife. Where ever you decide to spend your time on the island, however, be aware that in Lanzarote, a ‘night club’ will more than likely indicate a brothel, whereas a ‘discoteca’ will indicate what we know as nights clubs.
Lanzerote is not all about drinking, though. It is a beautiful island in its own right, with its volcanic landscape offering an array of walks to explore, and the beaches are great places for tourists to sun-bath, or get involved with more exotic activities like scuba diving. Whatever the reason for visiting Lanzarote, from relaxing breaks to partying weekends, it’s an affordable and friendly place to remember.
