Hardside Luggage – Make It Easier To Find Your Hardside Luggage At The Airport
In all of the chaos of getting around in a busy airport, your main objective after your plane lands is to get your checked hardside luggage as soon as possible. But the baggage carousel always seems to hinder this step.
Yours and everyone else’s bags are mixed together, with more arriving as you stand there. A lot of the different types of luggage looks alike, with little difference in the shape, style, or color.
Somewhere in the confusion, you need to find your bag, not take someone else’s by mistake, hope someone did not take yours by mistake, and hope that your luggage didn’t get lost in the process. Factor in that you are probably tired and stressed from traveling as it is. No wonder claiming baggage is such a chore.
So follow one or more of the following tips before the next time you travel with checked hardside luggage. They will help to make your life a lot easier by making your luggage easier to find. And they will make it harder for someone else to take your bag by mistake.
Utilize Decals — If changing the appearance of your luggage some does not bother you, then look for some durable, highly adhesive, large stickers or decals that won’t fall off easily. Put them on your luggage for a more distinctive and unique bag. Remember that when trying to find your luggage, the easier they are to see, the better.
Tie Something Noticeable Around The Handle — The quickest and easiest thing you can do to make your luggage easier to find is to tie a bright ribbon or cloth strip around the handle. The first time I flew, this was one of the pieces of advice I received. Make it a very unique, bright pattern instead of plain neon for the best results.
Accessorize It — If strips of cloth around the handle doesn’t appeal to you, and stickers and decals are too permanent, then try accessorizing instead with unique luggage accessories. Many fun colors and interesting patterns can be found for luggage straps and tags. Some of the luggage locks available even have brightly colored styles. Whatever you choose and decide to use, make sure that it is TSA compliant in case your bag is chosen for a random security check.
Buy A Different Design Or Color — If you need to look for new luggage soon, then make sure that you factor in the ability to spot it quickly. Before choosing luggage in a very plain color, such as black or navy, look for ones with different colors, such as light blue or hot pink. Or look for patterns such as polka dots, floral, or even animal prints. Hardside luggage that looks different from the norm automatically makes it much easier for you to find no matter where it rests on the baggage carousel.
